How I Organized My Homeschool Curriculum

d42337b9ed8cabb3c4bebcd5912fa994

Erica is our oldest daughter and she has her hands around her daughter Destine’ who is my grand-daughter. Up top next to Erica is our 11 year old daughter Faith, next to Faith is me, Coach Angie, I have my hands on my husband shoulders, Overere. My husband is holding our daughter Victoria who is 5, but will be 6 in a month, and he is also holding our son Wisdom who is now 2 1/2 years old. Our daughter Blessing, who has her hands on daddy shoulders is 4 years old and will be 5 years old this year. Wow how time flies.

This is how my family looked when I started homeschooling Faith the second time around. This picture was taken over 2 1/2 two years ago.

I remember when I first started homeschooling Faith. She was in the kindergarten. I thought I had to do things like a traditional classroom setting. I put so much pressure on myself, trying to be the perfect homeschool mom. I tried to follow the curriculum to the T and it wore me out because I was always questioning was I during everything right.

I end up putting Faith back in school because I had a lot on my plate, When I was homeschooling Faith I had just given birth to Victoria and six months later was pregnant with Blessing, I was working at that time as well, so I closed my business, came home to raise my babies. Faith went to school in the 1st-3rd grade and then I was led to homeschool her again. While I homeschooled Faith, my 2 little girls went to an awesome childhood learning center for the first year I homeschooled her. I got pregnant again and had a son, so I was homeschooling Faith again with a newborn son and the girls were in school. After getting a feel for homeschooling again and during a lot of research and watching tons of youtube videos, I began to fall in love with homeschooling and was led to homeschool all of my children.

a52e3e9a23430a9702e23dc29360d751

I wanted to be up on the latest curriculum and buy all the educational books, that I could find. I love books so that just drove me into a shopping frenzy. I hit up all the book stores like Barnes and Nobles, Sam’s, Walmart, Books of Million, Amazon, Ebay and the 1 dollar stores. I discovered that all the monies I was paying out to buy books I could find similar if not the same books at my local thrift stores like, Goodwill, Garage Sales, Craigslist and used book sales.

I would tell myself, these books cost less than the cost of tuition that I was paying out every month when I had them in school and over time I had accumulated tons of books that would take us years to read.

Yes I was a homeschooling novice, when I homeschooled my daughter in the kindergarten, I dedicated the basement room to my daughter classroom and decorated the walls like her traditional classroom setting. I have learned since then that for me having to much of anything if it is not being used it is just plain hoader-ism. So I have adopted a new homeschool philosophy. I not only adopted it in my classroom but I adopted this principle in every area of my life. Keep it Simple!

Keeping it simple is what I was looking for all alone, after trying countless of curriculum, what I found out is, there is not a one size fits all curriculum and every one of your child will learn differently and at their own pace. So do what works best for your children.

Another thing I discovered is, if you are homeschooling multiple children at one time like I am, it is best for your sanity to keep it simple for you and for them.

So I have narrowed it down since then, gave away some books and sold tons of unused educational tools and kept my favorites books that I think would benefit my family in the future and I bought curriculum for each child that covered what they need to know for their age and grade level and created a reference, reading and resource library in my home that can enhance and stir up their love and curiosity for learning.

This is what I ended up with down below and I am much more peaceful for during so. I feel so in control of my day, and I am not overwhelm by to much stuff, although I still feel like I could pair it down some more, I am pleased with the results!efb04e967b350bbab5cef3a0e213d92c

The first bookshelf which is the tall slim white bookshelf comes from Ikea, it houses my 2 year old son and my 4 year old daughter toddler flash cards, games, blocks, learning and reading books. It also houses a very small section of reading books and important educational binders for my business.

The second bookshelf, which is the middle cherrywood bookshelf, houses curriculum for my 3 daughters who are ages 11, 5, and 4. Each girl have her own shelf. This year I am using Abeka Homeschool Curriculum for my 4 and 5 year old girls. For my 11 year old daughter, I started off using a custom curriculum that I put together but end up switching to Ace Christian Homeschool Curriculum. I absolutely love it for her. It lets you go at your own pace, she can go as fast as she wants or she can take her time. The bookshelf also houses a caddy and basket for holding pencils/ink pens, color pencils, crayons, markers, stapler, glue, erasers, scissors and paper clips.

I got this bookshelf as soon as I decided to homeschool all of my children. It was waiting on me to pick it up. It was left on the side walk by a neighbor who just moved in the neighborhood. It had a tag on it that said free! It was in perfect condition and it is just what I needed. I was so grateful to my neighbor, who helped me get it onto the back of my truck and I was also grateful to God who always gives provision for the vision.

What I love about this bookshelf is that, it have 4 shelves for my four children that I homeschool. My 2 year old is not during real schooling yet but when it is time, I can add him at the bottom shelf. I also love that it has doors on it that close so I can hide all of their learning tools from my 2 year old therefore making it out of sight, out of mind for his beautiful eyes. The bookshelf is currently in my 2 year old room because it is close to the dinning room where my girls sit at the table to do their lessons and the bookshelf matches well with my son’s furniture in his room.

The last bookshelf comes from Ikea as well, and this bookshelf I deemed as our home library. It houses all of the educational resources, art supplies, reading and learning books. It also houses some additional flash cards and puzzles. Everything is categorized by subjects like math, reading, history, black history, science, social studies, health, manners, etc. I love the glass doors on this bookshelf because I can see where everything is, it is also a nice piece of furniture in my dinning room and the glass make the room feel open.

I don’t get caught up in buying a lot of books anymore, because I use our local library, but I have created a system for not becoming a curriculum junkie and this my system.

After we have read a book on our bookshelf, we place it in a bin for sale or donate. We can only replenish the book shelf with what we put in the bin. So if we put 7 books in the bin to donate, we can buy seven more new books to put in our library.

I use up all of the curriculum that I purchase for each one of my girls until it is gone and then, and only then, can I purchase a new curriculum for them. But before I purchase curriculum, I have to throughly research it to make sure it is a good fit for me and it is a good fit for them. So I would not be wasting money on curriculum that does not work for us.

On the weekends or when they are bored, I put together a fun pack for them and this is where I use the extra learning workbooks I have on my book shelf. When it is gone, it is gone, there is really no need to buy any extra workbooks because they already have curriculum that is teaching them what they need to know for their age and grade level.

My goal is to eliminate waste, use what we already have, manage and edit what comes in and what goes out.

Getting Back to the Heart of Things!

bench-1245994_1920

This blog post is about my journey back to being grateful and taking control of my life. I was feeling like I needed to bring more balance and order in my life.

I am a Christian, wife, mother and I took on the task of being responsible for my kids education. Yes, I also homeschool my kids.

I am a woman who have dreams and a purpose and I started to pursue them as well. I am a self published Christian author. I’ve written 3 books,“Dare To Dream Big”, “25 Attitude “You Must Have for a Breakthrough” and “Extraordinary Single Lady”.

I am a certified Christian life coach, speaker and blogger. I have a lot on my plate, but I love it. I love that I have found out what God created me to do and that is to partner with him to see his daughters made whole in every area of their lives. But I have an evening greater calling, and that is to be a wife to Overere and a mom to Erica, Faith, Victoria, Blessing and Wisdom. I am also called to be Destine’s GeeGee. I am not ready to be called a grandmother yet, so I told my granddaughter to call me GeeGee.

In life, there will be a lot of things pulling for your time and attention but you have to know what is the most important in your life. For me, God is most important, then myself and then my family in that order and then everything else comes after that.

herbal-tea-647535_1920

Myself after God because I am no good to anyone if I do not take care of myself first. I need to always be giving back to me, so I can give back to others that have been entrusted to me.

Some of my favorite me times and things I enjoy giving back to myself are, Lipton Green tea with honey or guava, reading and learning, spa treatment in the bath tub, spending fun quality time with my husband like going out to dinner and catching a great movie afterwards, traveling, praying and meditating, journaling, 30 minutes walks which I need to get back to, getting my hair done when its time, polishing my nails and toes, buying something for myself, having sweet fellowship and feeding my spirit man at Church and having social time with the ladies.

As women we want to be a part of everything and attend everyones gathering. But you have to decide what is truly important for you.

You must develop a relationship with the Holy Spirit so He can prompt you when you are taking on too many things in your life or when you are suppose to do something different than what you or other people think you are suppose to be doing.

diary-1149992_1280.jpg

Everyone has an agenda, but it is God’s agenda that should reign supreme in your life. But let me reveal this revelation. God has given us the ability to make wise decisions for ourselves. God requires us to follow after Jesus example on how we should conduct our lives. Jesus is the standard for us to pattern our life after, it is the blue print on how we are suppose to conduct ourselves with our family, friends, on our jobs and in the world. That is  one of the requirements to live a Christ centered life.

He has given you the free will to choose how you want your life to be. He will present things before you, but ultimately you must decide on what job to take, who to marry, where you want to live, which gifting and talents you want to develop, what type of car you want to drive, what kinds of attributes you want to display in the world, what house you want to live in and how you want to spend your days on earth.

The Bible is the road map for the best possible outcome to based your decisions on. The Bible is the true word of God, it is not to be taken lightly. It is prophecy in a book. It is God’s word to man, but God gave you free will, He left it up to you to do the choosing. The Holy Spirit is God’s helper, He will illuminate to you which way you should go if you develop a intimate trusting relationship with him. The Holy Spirit will speak to your heart and prompt you when it is something you should do or not be doing at this time if your life. Most Christians have not develop that relationship with the Holy Spirit. If you are born again, I would recommend you read this book by Benny Hinn called “Good Morning Holy Spirit” if you want to be born again pray this prayer.

Ladies, I know we want to have our cake and eat it too, but there is a price that comes with that. It takes careful thought and planning and great organization skills of which I am learning to develop everyday. I know everything is not going to be perfect, but perfect to me is having a peace of mind and living true within my heart, and being the change that I want to see and that starts with me.

All I was hearing in my spirit was get your house in order and that could mean different things for different people because we are all called to something different in life. Your struggle my be totally different from my struggles.

I was presented with an offer, that I might add, I asked God for, but after the offer was presented to me, all I heard was get your house order and organize in every are of your life. I heard 30 days.

I began working on it right way. The 1st thing I did, was write out a plan on how I was going to tackle all of my task that was set before. Before I can take on another obligation, I must do this 1st. Get my house in order.

dresses-53319_1280

I wrote a plan for decluttering every area in my home and this was not a surface plan. It was very detailed. I was not going to leave not one stone unturned. Sometimes we tackle the surface clutter that we see and neglect the clutter we can not see.

All of the hidden clutter I had to tackle was underneath the cabinets, inside the closets, inside the drawers, I no longer have a junk drawer because I assigned everything a place. Everything I had no use for, I donated it or I threw it away.

I tackled every room in my house and as I was cleaning and decluttering, I was making a list of all the things that needed fixed or mending.

I heard in my spirit, get a system for how you would keep it clean, and  do it the same way every time. I created me a system for every room and I created me an inventory list after every system of things that needed to be purchased for the upkeep of that particular room.

Sometimes our breakthroughs are attached to the things we are willing to give up. Sometimes our prosperity is attached to the things we are willing to implement and do. Sometimes clutter is an indicator of the things we are still holding on to, and sometimes God is just trying to make sure we lay a proper foundation before we build our house so it is not built upon a faulty foundation.

washing-machine-902359_1920

Today it has been a week since my purging and decluttering and I have 2 more rooms to tackle. I will complete them today. The laundry room and the basement.

While I was cleaning, I was thanking God for all of the blessings that are in my life. As I cleaned and decluttered each room, I realize how abundantly blessed I am.

I have clean running water, a warm bed to lay my head down on, heat on those cold nights, cover to keep warm, food in the refrigerator, an amazing husband that affords me the luxury of being a stay at home mom to our children, a home that is paid off, cars that are paid off and a whole host of other blessings.

As I have been extremely grateful, I have being noticing things showing up in my life, big blessing that reminds me of what God said in Matthew 6:25-34 KJV:

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your Heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

yellow-845783_1920.jpg

And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:” “And yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.”

“Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?” “Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?” “(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.” “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

I believe I am doing what I am suppose to be doing right now, It feels so in alignment. All I know is God is up to something good and I am excited to see what that is and I will keep you posted. But until then, what is God putting on your heart in this season of your life. Please do not say I don’t know. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you and began implementing it right away. 2 Ways To Eliminate Being Overwhelmed!

people-1492052_1920-2

Are you struggling with getting things done? Are you finding yourself getting behind on your daily task? Do you feel overwhelm with all the things you have going on in your life.

I want to encourage you and give you some tips on how you can conquer your day and feel super successful.

I talk a lot about people pleasing, I believe when you are not being honest with what you can honestly handle, taking on extra responsibility, and attending events you really know you shouldn’t attend, you are in people pleasing mold.

Before you can actually feel super successful, you need to sit down and get really clear about what is important you, what are you suppose to be doing at this season in your life and what is causing you to feel so overwhelmed.

day-planner-828611_1920Then, you are going to create you a strict schedule that will take the pressure off of you feeling so overwhelmed.

You are going to feel guilty about this at first, because you are used to being there for everybody else and you will feel guilty because you are going to have to tell people no.

Some people might be upset with you, and even might get offended with you, but you are going to have to be ok with that because you are now putting your health first. Feeling overwhelmed and stressed out is never good for your body or your mind. Our bodies have a way of sending us signals when we are pushing it to much.

When you are feeling anxiety in your heart, a headache because you are stressed and overwhelmed these are signals that is telling you that something needs to change in your life.

So how do you change it?

woman-391555_1920.jpg1. Disconnect From Time Wasters

Time wasters are things, people, busyness that have nothing to do with where you are trying to go in your life. It will always delay your progress from getting things done in your life.

You should have time for just relaxing, but what I am talking about here, is people who are living their life in the blind. They have no real pursuit or no real goals, neither are they focused with getting things done in their own life.

Time wasters can also be distractions. A distraction is a thing that prevents someone from giving full attention to something else. Extreme agitation of the mind or emotion.

The scripture that comes to my mind when I think of time wasters and distractions is from 1 Peter 5:8Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up.

phone-1889405_1920

Just when you have decided to live the life of your dreams or live in your purpose the enemy will try to catch you off guard to delay your progress. You must recognize the time wasters in your life. It is a set up by the enemy, he wants to catch you napping.

Time wasters come in the form of a phone call from a friend who is just calling to see how you are doing. However, they are actually trying to find out what you are doing and because they have gotten off focus, the enemy is using them to get you off focus by having you to believe that they have an urgent matter to talk about.

TV is a big time waster. Billions of people are wasting their time looking at TV while others are living their dreams, when they should be pursuing their own dreams.

Computer gadgets are another times waster, If you have to be on-line for anything, give yourself a time to get on there and a time to get off. Schedule it in your day and stick to your schedule.

pexels-photo-58457

2. Schedule your day for success!

Let your time be accounted for! Every second, every minute, and every hour. Plan your day! A failure to plan can result in an ineffective day. But allow for flexibility for the suddenly. Please do not get bent out of shape if you have to detour from your list.

Make sure you get at least 3-5 things done on your list. Let them be absolute things, that absolutely must be done for that day and before you know it, your list will be completed.

Planning your day is also another way to keep time wasters out of your life and make what’s really important a top priority. Scheduling your day will ensure that you are bringing a balance in your life and making time for your important relationships, like time with the Lord, time taking care of yourself, time spent with your spouse, time spent with the kids and attention to your purpose and business.

budget

Here is a bonus! You can even schedule your bills for automation. That way you will never have to forget to pay another bill again resulting in more cash flow for you because you have eliminated late fees that was eating into my profit. When I started to automate my bills, it took the stress out of bill paying. I felt like life was very good. It shifted my focus to dreading to pay bills to loving to pay bills on time, which have resulted in a debt free lifestyle!

Sometimes we are looking at the big picture and wondering to ourselves how are we going to get everything done.

Well here is a sure strategy that will eliminate feelings of guilt, feelings of inadequacies, and failure. There is something about following a schedule that makes you feel super successful and secure. Statistics shows that even when you follow a schedule with your kids they feel more secure. Maybe it’s because you have set your intentions to make sure everything and everyone in your life is taken care of including yourself, and now you are giving out of the overflow of an already filled up tank.

Grab my ebook “25 Attitude You Must Have For a Breakthrough!” It is sure to  help you eliminate stress, anxiety and overwhelm out of your life.

She Still Got It! It Has Always Been There!

She is still in there, that same woman who use to laugh until she cried, shopped until she dropped and use to have a lot of fun during the things that brought her joy.

love-1194312_1920

Like, dancing and singing and visiting the local boutiques. Designing and decorating, and going to the coffee house and having a cup of coffee or tea. Spending all day at the bookstores and checking out the latest must reads, magazines and journals. Hanging out with her friends and catching up on the latest, whats going on in everyone’s life. Finding new recipes and trying them out and having potlucks so everyone can try each other dishes and just enjoying life! She is still there.

She just got buried, under all the responsibilities she had on her plate. She just got buried, with cares of her life. She just got buried, under the negative chatter that fed her thoughts with lies, telling her that she had lost it, her beauty, her charm, her charisma and the romance, connection, communication and the attention in her marriage.

She just got buried, under her superwoman exterior that she puts on everyday. She just got buried, under hormonal imbalance. She just got buried, under her emotional eating to numb the pain of her dreams laying dormant inside her, she just got buried, under going to the same unfulfilling job that she goes to everyday. She just got buried, under the same old routine that does not have spontaneity in it. She just got buried, under giving to everybody else and not giving back to herself.

pensive-female-580611_1920.jpg

She just got buried, with the grief of a loved one passing, she just got buried, under living with a sickness or disease in her body. She just got buried, under going through a divorce. She just got buried, under living with loneliness, envy, bitterness, unforgiveness and rejection.

She just got buried, under being a wife, mom, a daughter, a teacher, a caretaker, a boss, a sister, a friend, a leader and an influencer. She just got buried.

BUT SHE IS STILL IN THERE!

She is still vibrant, and alive. She still have that twinkle in her step and a sparkle in her eyes. She is still just as attractive, sexy, alluring and confident as she was when she was in her 20s’ and 30s’. She still have that same laugh on the inside of her, that when she laughed so hard, her belly tighten and tears rolled down her face.

Give her a reason to have joy again. Give her permission to live again. Take your mind back from anyone and anything that is making you feel like you can’t breathe. Make yourself first priority! Invest in you again. Love on you again! Stop those sabotaging thoughts that you take on everyday and give them back to the devil! No more having self-pity and feeling sorry for yourself.

Girl, you have got to get up and live again. You stopped caring about what makes you truly happy! Pick back up those things that once brought you joy! Take care of yourself.

9478919558_a605adeb93_h

Start with a simply spa treatment, in your own bath tub. Buy you a big luxury bar of moisturizing body soap, and click this link to get a spa treatment formula.

Schedule your life and include you as top priority, right under spending time with God. Write out a list of all the things you love doing and include those things in your schedule. I hear you saying, I don’t have enough time to do that. That is why you are creating  a schedule for yourself, because you get to choose what you want to do and how you want your day to go.

Yes, schedule your responsibilities in your schedule as well, but if something comes up that conflicts with your me time, say no to it. In fact, I want you to cut the phone off when you are doing something for yourself. You are in an important meeting and will not be able to answer the phone. Let your family know that you have decided to start taking care of yourself properly and you would not be available to answer the phone until you are done with your appointment. They would love you more for taking care of yourself, because they will have a new happier healthy woman in their life.

In your time spent with God, pour your heart out to him, If you do not journal, now is a good time to start journaling because you are going to have different emotions that are going to be surfacing and you are going to need to talk to God about these different emotions and you are going to have to be honest with yourself.

writing-923882_1920.jpg

In prayer with God and writing in your journal is a good place to pour your heart out to him. You are getting clear about what is causing you discontentment. Admit it to God and yourself. Admit everything to him. Do not hold back. Sometimes we as women feel guilty that we are feeling a certain way about a situation and we never deal with what is causing us to feel this way because we think it is wrong to be having such strong emotions but God already knows how you feel, so do not try to hide it from him, and do not try to hide the emotions from yourself.

Another thing I would like for you to do is, after you have explored what is causing you stress, unhappiness, lost of joy, not feeling alive in your life and discontentment, I want you to answer these questions, what do I need to do to feel better about this situation? What do I really want? How do I really want to feel? When the answers come to you, work towards implementing the answers you receive right away!

I want you to start back reading books on the areas in your life that you want to improve in, for example, if you want to start back looking and dressing fashionable, go on Pinterest.com and look at pictures of fashion that ladies your age are wearing. You can go to your local book store and buy fashion magazines or go to the library and check out fashion book and magazines. You can also go on Youtube.com and type in the search button the topic your are interested in.

asian-1839798_1920.jpg

You can do this with any area of your life you want to improve in, I would advise you first go to the Bible and see what Gods word says about the subject and then look at other sources that is Biblically sound. You can do this to improve your communication, sex life, attractiveness and connection with your husband. You can read books about marriage, how to forgive, your appearance, how to put yourself first so you can be alive to take care of others around you, healthy eating and natural things you can do to cure certain diseases, pray and fasting, working out ect.

The goal here is for you to get your sparkle back and for you to truly feel alive in your life. I wrote a book that I know will truly motivate you and encourage you to find your sparkle and shine again! You will truly be encouraged to find your joy and truly live again! It is called “25 Attitudes You Must Have for a Breakthrough” it is only 14.97 and you can have access to it the moment you purchase it! It is a digital download. You can start right away feeling back in control of your life. That is less than 15.00 to change your life forever.

`How To Wear Your Happiness Like A Crown!

Portrait of a beautiful young female with hands outstretched enjoying her freedom

Ladies you are allowing people, things and circumstances to steal your joy. It is my greatest desire to see women happy, whole and living a beautiful life while receiving their breakthroughs.

Happiness is always a choice. But some ladies are dealing with strongholds that is keeping true happiness from shining through. The Bible say the joy of the Lord is your strength and you need your strength to take care of yourself, your family and your purpose! Your strength is what keeps you going.

One of my intentions that I’ve set for my for myself is to keep my joy no matter what! I actually wrote an article about it titled Living An Intentional Life In Your Heart!

I think you and I need to find out what it means to be truly happy, so let’s look up the definition of happy and then we are going to delve into the Bible to see what God says about being happy, joyous and elated!

Dictionary.com defines happy as :

  1. delighted, pleased, or glad, as over a particular thing:
(to be happy to see a person.)
  2. characterized by or indicative of pleasure, contentment, or joy:
(a happy mood; a happy frame of mind.)
  3. favored by fortune; fortunate or lucky:
    (a happy, fruitful land.)

Some people happiness comes from seeing a certain person. Which also lets me know that they can lose their joy when they don;t see a certain person they are close to and they can loose their joy when they see a person because of offense in their heart towards that person. Acquiring things makes people happy as well, which tells me that your happiness can be altered if you do not acquire certain things in your life.

Some people happiness comes from being favored by fortune. Which tells me when you do not have wealth or money it could alter your state of happiness because it is based on you having the money and possessions.

Some people happiness comes from pleasure. They look for things that make them feel good. This too can alter your happiness because if no one is telling you how fabulous you are and how beautiful you are then you are not happy, or if you are not always doing something, you feel like your life is boring and unfulfilling.

But I love the 2nd definition of happiness. Some people are happy because of their frame of mind and happy mood.

Contentment and joy are not based on anything external and comes from within.

This is where God lives in your heart! This is the happiness that I intentionally strive to live everyday! This happiness is based on having a relationship with God and having a grateful heart.

This kind of happiness does not look outside of itself to be happy. It is not based on materials things, money, or other people. This kind of happiness is in God. It is where God lives.

Misery loves company but you be so happy that you don’t get an invitation!

raw-16-1

There will be situations in your life that wants to rob you of your joy but you have to fill yourself up everyday with doses of love, joy and peace. Wear your happy like a crown, so when misery sees you, it knows instantly you are not going to be the guest list.

Lets read what the Bible says about happiness!

Proverbs 15:13 ESV A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is crushed. When you are not happy it crushes your spirit and it shows on your face. People can tell when you are having issue with your heart. You don’t genuinely look happy.

Proverbs 17:22 ESV A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Being happy is healing to your body and spirit. But a crushed spirit dries up the bones. That is why it is said that some diseases are brought on by unforgiveness and bitterness of the spirit.

I love what Ecclesiastes 3:12 ESV reads, it says, “I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live.” Look ladies, life is to grand to be living it in a unhappy and unfulfilled state. Solomon writes that he has done everything under the sun and he perceived after trying everything and doing everything, that there is nothing better than for a man to be happy and do good as long as they live.

Some woman unhappiness comes from trying to control someone else’s situation that has nothing to do with them. We inject ourselves in people lives trying to control others circumstances by over helping and giving to much. Ladies we have to allow grown people to be grown. You are loosing your happiness because they are choosing to do what works best for them and what thy want to be doing rather it is right for them or not, they are making their own choice, and because they are not choosing to do it your way, you are loosing your joy.

You can only control you and you alone. Take your happy back. Get your hands out of other peoples affairs.

Ladies this scripture tells us that we should be happy, joyous, elated content with our own responsibilities. Ecclesiastes 3:13 ESV reads,  “Also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God’s gift to man.”

4976978888_4af5408c83_o

How do you do that? I get happy and grateful for the role I get to play in helping my husband fulfill his role as the leader, protector and provider in our home by serving him in what ever capacity I need to serve him in and the same thing goes for my children. The Bible says in Matthew 23:11 The greatest among you will be your servant. It is not the person that is getting served that is the greatest, but the one who gets to serve!  A different kingdom.

Now, do I need breaks sometimes? Yes I do! And do I need help sometimes? Yes I do! Is it always perfect, no it is not. But it is a privilege, that I get to serve my family. It is a privilege that I get to partner with God in helping his daughters get whole in every area of their life. I am so elated that God picked me to share in this awesome work. Their is nothing more satisfying than to see my family having what they need to be healthy physically, spiritually and emotionally!  There is nothing more satisfying than to serve the women and girls that I am called to.

Happiness is a mindset, you have to choose to be happy no matter what! You can find joy in your everyday routines. But first you have to stop complaining about it and find the good in everything in your life. Let go of the baggage, the attitude, the holding people hostage within your heart! Stop it, people are going to be people. People are not God. People are going to let you down. So get your faith out of people and put it in God. Get your head out of the air, you are not perfect, so why are you trying to make everybody else perfect. God forgives you when you mess up. Forgive others and move own. People will never be able to measure up to your standards because you can not measure up to your standards.

You are not doing yourself a favor by holding ought in your heart toward anyone and what is sad is that the person your are holding hostage don’t even have a clue! They are going on wearing their happy crown and living a life of joyous abundance and you are using all of your energy to excommunicate them out of your life mentally.

Half of the people that you are holding hostage never done a thing to you. You are holding them hostage because of what someone told you about them, that might not be true! There are always two sides to every story. It is time out for petty distractions. Your life is too precious to loose your joy over anyone.

Psalm 118:24 ESV This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

God wants you to wake up every single day, being glad that you get to enjoy his blessing and love on his people. You do not have time to waste on cattiness. There is a higher calling that is calling you to come up higher where Gods thoughts are and where Gods ways are. Listen to the happy song and get happy!

When you are filled with Gods joy, love and happiness he gives you peace and security. Check out these last 2 scriptures about having a happy heart. Psalm 16:9 ESV Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. Isaiah 55:12 ESV “For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Design Your Life: With Thought, Care and Wisdom

pexels-photo-110473-2

With where your life is right now, if you were given a white piece of paper and was told that you could create your life just by imagining it and writing it down on paper, what would you write? If you had no limits and you could get exactly what you want, what would your life look like?

I would advise you to think long and hard about how you would create your life. I would tell you to pay attention to all of the details and responsibilities that comes with having what your heart desires. I would advise you to think about your intentions and why you are asking for some of the things that you want to come into your life.

When your life is so wonderfully crafted it is done with thought, care and wisdom! This reminds me of King Solomon that the Bible speak about. I want to share this passage of scriptures with you.

2 Chronicles 1:7-12

Solomon went up to the bronze altar before the Lord in the tent of meeting and offered a thousand burnt offerings on it.

That night God appeared to Solomon and said to him, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.”

Solomon answered God, “You have shown great kindness to David my father and have made me king in his place. Now, Lord God, let your promise to my father David be confirmed, for you have made me king over a people who are as numerous as the dust of the earth. Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?”

God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, possessions or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, possessions and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.”

When God presented this declaration to Solomon, I believe Solomon told God what he wanted out of his greatest need at that time. Solomon realized the responsibility he was given and perhaps it was very overwhelming for him. I would even say that Solomon probably felt inadequate. After all, Solomon was king over a people who were as numerous as the dust of the earth. Solomon said to God, who is able to govern this great people of yours.

fashion-woman-cute-airport-2

Instead of Solomon asking God for wealth and riches, vengeance  against his enemies and to let this cup pass to someone else, he decided to ask God for the wisdom and knowledge to handle it all.

I believe Solomon watched his dad when he was king, he probably was saying to himself, how is my father able to handle all of this responsibility, it is to much to bare. Solomon saw his father go to God in prayer continually and I bet his father made being in the kingship position effortless. King Solomon probably saw a lot of mistake his father made as well. Solomon gave much thought, care and wisdom to the opportunity that God presented him with. I can ask for whatever I want, and I can have it!

Solomon just asked for what he knew he needed. He asked for what would answer everything for him, something he felt like he was lacking greatly! Wisdom and knowledge to led God’s people. See Solomon was around wealth all of his life. After all, he was the son of a king. When ever the king asked for something it was given to him.

I believe we should ask for the greatest need. The thing that would solve it all for us! What are you lacking? What is it that have you feeling so inadequate? What is it that make you feel like you are not good enough? What do you need that would make you feel most successful in your life? That has to be pondered over with much thoughtfulness, care and wisdom.

In return for Solomon asking for what he really needed, which was wisdom and knowledge to led God’s people, God told Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, possessions or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, possessions and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.”

Now let me ask you this question again.

With where your life is right now, if you were given a white piece of paper and was told that you could create your life just by imagining it and writing it down on paper.

What would you write? If you had no limits and you could get exactly what you want, what would your life look like?

5 Things You Should Do When You feel Like Everything Is Falling Apart!

“5 Things You Should Do When You Feel Like Everything Is Falling Apart.”

What things are consuming your thoughts? What are you so concerned about? Well Guess what? My God cares about it as well, you need answers and He is here to give them to you. I hear people saying God don’t speak to me. God speaks all the time but are you ready to listen to who God uses and what he uses to get the answers to you.

I woke up to this message, I learned to stop questioning myself and learn to trust the voice that is speaking. After all, I am just a vessel that has allowed the Heavenly Father to speak through me, rather the message is for me or for you, I am going to capture the conversation.

So what was God revealing to me upon waking up this morning?

bible-scripture-gospel-testament-52513.jpeg

1. When your world is changing around you, stay connected to God.

There is a tendency to disconnect from God and try to figure things out on our own. The urgency of the matter will try and get us to move to fast and react now. Sometimes out of haste we make the wrong move, and out of desperation we jump the gun to fast.

Seasons change, businesses change, locations change, your kids are changing, your marriage is changing, the way our world works is changing, your vision has changed and if we are not careful or in tune to what is going on around us, we would be wondering to ourselves what is going on, I never had to work so hard at trying to keep this thing going. It was once prosperous, we use to be so connected to each other, what happen to my babies, they use to tell me everything, I never had to work this hard to keep this business afloat.

We have to keep up with the times, our world is evolving. What was detestable to wear in public years ago, is now the new normal. Temptation is different now, unlike David in the Bible who stumble upon temptation when he saw Bathsheba taking a shower, now temptation comes to your front door and right in your face.

Social Media is the new game changer, and if you are in any kind of business, it is advantageous that you have some kind of on going social media presence. I know we want things to stay the same, but everything is changing. The way we relate to our kids have changed, you got to be the parent that is in the know, it is all kinds of influences that are effecting the way our kids are behaving. They speak in codes and ebonics, and the messages are hidden in the codes. Parents, we must be able to recognize the new language amongst our kids, so we can understand what our children are into.

The way you’ve done business has changed, your old tactics is not working anymore, it is time for you to find out where your customers are and what do they need from you. You should be contemplating on how you can better serve your customers? How can you make your customer feel important, and what will set you apart from all of the rest.

We are in the age of information, where you practically can do everything from the comfort of your own home. You can shop online, pay your bills on line and even go to church on line.

Churches are making it easy for people to connect with them and fellowship with their congregation, even if you live in a different state, town or city. You can connect with them and be in the same service with them via live streaming.

So why should your customers leave the comfort of their own home to patronize you, when there are so many options available to them. What experience would you give them to make it worth their while? I know some of the topics I am talking about sounds ridiculous, but while you are trying to figure it out, the world is changing.

I remember my husband and I went into this movie theater where we live. This movie theater use to be real popular. It was located in a high price neighborhood, so we just assumed that it is going to be a more mature crowd, but when my husband and I sat down, we realized that we were sitting amongst a new generation of young people and for once in my life, I felt like I was stuck in time. Everything about these young people were different, the way they looked, their mannerism was different, the way they spoke and the way they dressed were different. We did not fit in at all, my husband and I agreed that this was going to be the last time we visit that movie theater. One day we drove pass the movie theater, and they were upgrading it and made it into a upscale movie theater. We have been back several times since the new grand opening. Their clientele has changed. Now young and mature come there to watch movies..

How are you going to stay current when everything around you is changing? I know you use to score big with the old system but now it is not working with the new vision. Your hustle has to be different. You are going to have to find new ways of doing thing.

pexels-photo-29304

2. Embrace the change that is around you.

How can you embrace change when it seems like things are falling apart around you. When you feel like you are falling apart inside. You do not have to accept the change around you but you are going to have to embrace it. Because whether the Bible agrees with it or not and whether you agree with it or not, it is changing or it has changed. The sooner you embrace it (I am not saying agree with sin) and find new ways of dealing with it, then you can find a solution that will make it work for the good of all that is involved.

Sometimes we just do not want to accept the way things are and we do not have to. But if you and I embrace the fact that it is what it is, then we can let go of the attachment that we placed on ourselves, that it is our job to fix it or fix someone. When we let go of all of the judgement, let go of trying to hold it all together, let go of the pride, let go of us trying to play God.

If we can let go and let God judge the situation, and we just learn to love and trust that what ever happens in this situation will work out for our highest good because we have surrendered and gave it to God, then God can step in and show us what needs to be done next.

pexels-photo-101063

3. Stay calm.

I think the mind goes into over drive trying to find solutions to why our world has changed and trying to find the pieces to put it all back together like it once was. You can really work yourself up into panic mode if you are not careful with your thoughts. I know it feels like you are not doing nothing to solve the problem if you just sit and be quiet. But being still is probably what you need to do so you can hear God speaking to you.

When you feel anxious, and like anxiety is trying to rise up on the inside of you, go into your quiet place and breathe. What is happening to you is that your thoughts are out of control. You have to bring your thoughts back into captivity. You do that by calming the mind through meditation and reading the scriptures. Psalm 37:25  says, I have been young, and now I am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. If God said it, you better believe he is a man of his word!

girl-praying-hands-eyelashes-41942

4. Pray

Now that you have cleared the cutter in your mind, fill it up with talking to God about it. He is the only one who can show you what you need to do. Prayer changes things. Cry your heart out to God, be honest with him, real honest because it says in Psalms 66:18 – If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear [me]:. He knows everything about you anyway.

You are in a temporary season, make sure that you forgive anybody that have hurt you, betrayed you, offended you or abandoned you. Clear your heart of any anger, bitterness, malice and strife. In order for you to move forward and get your prayers answered,  you have to have a clean heart before God. God cannot forgive you until you have forgiven others. Matthew 5:14-15 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive yours.

Ask God questions, any questions you need answered. Let God know your fears and your struggles. Ask him for help! The Bible says in Psalm 46:1 (KJV) God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. I have included a link to scriptures that tells you that God will answer your prayers. Meditate on those scriptures. God wants to help you reestablish your relationships, your business, your finances, your self-esteem and anything else you need establishing. Being thankful and grateful goes along way, in fact God says, Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

5. Strategize!

Ask God to show you your dream team? And surround  yourself with others who can help you get to the next level. If you are the only knowledgeable one in the room and everyone is listening to you, then who are you listening to. This is new territory for you. You have to swallow your pride and ask for help! Right now you are losing battleground. You have to get around people who defeated Goliath already. You need to loose your girlfriends who are not married and are trying to tell you how to leave your husband. You need to get around some seasoned woman who got down in the trenches and fought to keep the other woman from stealing her husband. You need to find your Naomi! You need to find your real prayer warriors! Ask God whose heart you can trust. Just because people around appear to be faithful doesn’t mean they are.

I love listening to Oprah tell her story about when she brought her own network. She said, this was new territory for her. Oprah was use to people showing up for her on her syndicated network. After 25 years of successful television, Oprah decided that she would start her own network. She just assumed with so many followers and loyal fans, they would  just follow her to her own network. She said what she didn’t realize is, everybody did not have cable and everybody wasn’t getting cable just to watch her. Oprah stated that in that season of her life, she was just getting back what she was feeling about herself on the inside. Which was shame, fear, she didn’t know what she was doing and feeling like she was failing. People were saying all kinds of cruel things about her and putting out negative energy about how her network was doing bad and how she is not going to make it, but in order for her  Oprah to change her current situation she had to change her inner dialogue.

The moment she started to change the story she was telling herself, in that moment she could find a solution to save her network. She had to shut down from listening to the naysayers both outwardly and inwardly. She had to get a different strategy. She had to ask for help. This was a very humbling experience for Oprah. She spoke on platforms I know she didn’t want to speak on. She partner with people that she didn’t think she would ever partner with. She use the power of youtube and the internet so people could continue to connect with her without paying for cable. She went on a Life Class Tour, she did things that she did not want to do, but she had to make up her mind that she was going to sink or swim. She chose to swim. I am sure Oprah felt vulnerable. She was use to people fighting to get on her show, now she was having to ask people to buy into her network. Oprah became a game changer and so can you. You have to get a plan in place and see it through. It might be uncomfortable but you can do it! Don’t give up! Fight for your life, family and your destiny!

Who Is Influencing Your Children?

This post is to mothers who are teaching and educating their children at home. Mom even if your child goes to a private or public school you can still benefit from this article. I am not anti-school, my kids went to awesome Christian Schools! And as soon as my son is potty trained, I am sending him to one of the best learning centers in Saint Louis, Mo. Transformation Christian School.

pexels-photo-94990

I am in a position in my life where I am able to teach my children at home. I realize this is a privilege most moms do not get to experience but wish they could. I also know, not all moms desire to teach their children at home and that is ok, do whatever works best for your family.

I want you to know that I highly respect teachers, I take my hat off to teachers, I am still trying to figure out how they are able to manage all those beautiful personalities, attitudes and the workload that comes with teaching and managing their own classroom.. I have 4 children at home and though it is rewarding to see your children blossom right before your eyes, it has a reality side to it as well. I really think teachers should get paid a salary equivalent to the salary of a doctor. I just want to take the time to thank all the teachers for your acts of service to our children. I which there was away that we as parents can make it more easier for you to teach our childern.

When I decided to teach my children at home, I had questions in my thoughts like every mother has when she is about to embark on a journey called the unknown. I had questions, doubts and fears but inside of my heart I believe this is what I was suppose to be doing. Yes I knew it would be a big sacrifice and a huge responsibility because I would be responsible for them getting everything they needed to succeed. But I knew I was not alone, and if God was leading me in this direction, then he would provide me with everything I needed to get the job done.

With any responsibility the first question we asks ourselves is, are we qualified to handle the task that is set before us? Are we willing to handle the task that is set before us? Will we be successful in handling the task that is set before us and last, am I suppose to handle this task that is set before me or is this something I just took on myself, a new experiment I want to try or God is this you really leading me to take on this task?

You and I are getting ready to explore what we really agreed to take on. Our reasons for teaching our children at home may be different, but we share the same journey. Moms just because you are sending  your children to learn in a classroom setting, doesn’t mean you get to escape your responsibility of teaching your children at home.

pexels-photo-5.jpeg

Can we just say all parents are teachers? Some has professional degrees and the rest of us was born with the natural ability to teach our children. God has given us an innate ability to lead and guide our children. Who is better able to love, nourish, teach and care for our children more than we are? Who has the instinctual and intuitive ability to know exactly what our children needs more than we do?

I am aware that not all moms are walking in this awareness and are labeled as bad mothers, but today I want to focus on the moms who are aware of their influence as a mother. Regardless of how you became a mother this article is for you.

There will be days when you don’t feel like you have walked in your full potential as a mom, on those days give yourself lots of grace. Do what ever you have to do to restore your relationship with your children. Our children are so precious and they desire fellowship with us. It is our job as parents, to teach our children about the ways of God and to bring them into true fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ. I have listed some scriptures letting us know that teaching starts with the parents.

Isaiah 28:9-10 ESV “To whom will he teach knowledge, and to whom will he explain the message? Those who are weaned from the milk, those taken from the breast? For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little.

Deuteronomy 6:6-9 “These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. “You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. “You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead.
“You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Genesis 18:19 ESV For I have chosen him, that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring to Abraham what he has promised him.”

There are so many voices that are in the world today, who voice will you teach your children to listen to. I will tell you who voices they should be listening to. God’s and Your voice. You have an obligation to teach your children to listen to the right voice. If you do not teach your children someone or something will be teaching them. The book of proverbs tells a son to listen to their father’s and mother’s instructions.

Proverbs 1-8:9 Hear, my son, your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching;  Indeed, they are a graceful wreath to your head and ornaments about your neck.

If we are going to teach our kids the ways of the Lord, then we must become a student of God’s word, so that we will have the knowledge to teach our children the ways of righteousness, holiness and truth.

numbers-time-watch-white.jpg

I think we are not aware of just how much time we are allowing others and things to teach our children. Sometimes we are just to overwhelm and tired to do it ourselves. So lets do the math of how much time we really have to teach our children the ways of the Lord. Lets explore how much time we really have every week to teach our children. There are 168 hours in a week.

*We rely on our churches to teach our children the ways of the Lord 2 days a week for about 2 hours. 4 hours a week

*We use our schools systems to teach them and educate them about 7 hours a day, 5 days a week. 35 hours

*Our children have to go to sleep. If they go to bed by 8pm and wake up by 7am, that is 11 hours. 77 hours a week.

*We are left with 52 hours a week teaching our children about the ways of the Lord. Now that is not including doing homework which can take up most of the evening depending on how many kids you have. Lets allot 1 hour for homework per day, for 6 days. 6 hours of homework time. We are down to 46 hours a week.

*If your children have after school activities like sports or lessons we will allot 4 hours a week for extra curricular activities. Leaving us with 42 hours a week to teach our children.

*I forgot to add daily cleaning and chores, like cooking, cleaning and making sure our family have fresh clothes, bath time, and all the other things that comes with running a household and extra commitments outside of the home. I will give 2 hours a day, 14 hours a week to that. Leaving us with 28 hours a week. That is only a 1 day and 4 hours a week, we have to really teach our children.

Moms who have to work outside the home and still have to come home and take care of her responsibilities at home, grace and grace and more grace to you. I have walked in your same shoes, I know how overwhelming it could be at times. With that kind of work load and schedule we are to tired to teach anybody anything. When we get home we just want to relax and fill ourselves up so we can constantly give to everybody else. I know everyone can’t afford a Christian education but thank God for the families who can afford it, at least our children are hearing about the love of God and his teaching while they are being educated.

wood-houses-school-old

This is not to make moms feel guilty but to shed light on who is actually raising our children. Public education are teaching our kids things that were never taught to us as kids when we were in school. There are things being taught in some of our children schools that are in direct opposition of what the word of God teaches.

So If you have decided to teach and educate your children at home, do not allow the pressure of everyone saying your kids are missing out on the social aspect of their lives. Homeschool groups are on the rise in almost every state where homeschooling is allowed. Your children have their church community if you are part of a body of believers. Your community and the state that you live in probably host homeschool events, just look it up on the internet.

But family is where real community starts. When have we gotten to the point where the family is not enough for us. Our neighborhood community activities is not enough for us. The events around our city is not enough for us. You can meet and fellowship with others around you in your own community.

Mom, you are well qualified to teach your children at home if you can, and if this is what you desire to do. God gave you everything you need to educate you children and led your children in the way of righteousness. Your child is an individual, they are unique and each child learns differently. You as a mom knows that. Sometimes others want to label your children because they are not keeping up with the learning style that is set for them by a decided on curriculum, but do not allow anyone to speak negatively about your children.

You speak the word of the Lord over your godly heritage. Some of our greatest leader that have lead this country were homeschooled. Most of our greatest olympic champions had to be homeschooled to develop their greatness. They have programs available to help you to teach your children at home and all you have to do is oversee their learning. I want moms to be encouraged that you have made the right decision in teaching your children at home.

Living An Intentional Life-In Your Heart

Let me ask you a question, are you living an intentional life? Living an intentional life is all about how you are showing up in your life and the choices you are making or not making for your life. I want to talk to you in this post about living an intentional life in your heart. As I take inventory of my own life, all I can do, is thank God for helping me to recognize my need for redemption. My relationship with God has exposed the true intentions of my heart and it has also exposed the true intentions in hearts of others around me.

woman-1149965_1920

I want to share Hebrews 4:12-13 with you, When I got a real revelation of this scripture text, it changed the way I showed up in my life.

The word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight; everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.…

This scripture is saying that when we read the Holy Bible, which is God’s word, it reveals and expose the true intentions within the human heart. The word of God penetrates through your mind, your will and your emotions. It cuts through the hidden agendas that you try to hide from yourself and others. The word of God also exposes when you are thinking wrong thoughts. We can try to hide our heart from others, but God, being an all knowing God sees everything that we think, say and do.

When I received revelation of the scriptures, some things really changed for me. I want to share with you what changed for me.

I no longer hid. I did not have to hide from God and I didn’t have to hide from myself. I learned to always be honest with myself and honor what I am always feeling and acknowledge it to God. I have learned to share my feelings with others if asked of me, and if someone has violated me in anyway, tell them what is on my heart. I have learned that I should check my own spirit if it gets out of order, or God is going to check it for me. He already knows the truth, so there is no need hiding anything from him.

It changed the way I showed up in my life and with others. This scripture taught me to reveal the real reason I want something from others up front. It taught me to not ask questions with the wrong motives of really seeking something else. Just say what I want from others and be up front. If I wanted to know about something, just ask for that information from that person.

I make sure I have checked in with the Holy Spirit, so I can make sure that my motives and my intentions are in the right place. Being intentional means respecting boundaries. Yours and other people boundaries. I have realized that people do not know their boundaries when their heart is in the wrong place and when their motives are impure. But that is another blog post all together.

When you give your life to Christ, some things just do not fall off of you right away, that is why grace abounds to every believer that put their full trust and confidence in him. But you should be allowing the word of God to cleanse you on a regular basis and as you do, layers and layers of things will be revealed to you, especially in your heart.

In Proverbs 14:12 it reads there is a way that seems right to a man but it’s end is the way of death.

Matthew 15:18-20 But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.”

From these scriptures, it is letting us know that when we are not living an intentional life, we are operating in these sins of the flesh and these things are in our hearts.

We can be saved sanctified tongue talking believers, working in ministry and doing the Lords work and have a heart full of wrong intentions. Before we can live an intentional life. We must examine ours hearts and be intentional in the way we show up in our lives and the lives of others. Especially if we want to win others trust.

So, there are some intentional things that I have put in place for myself and my family.  So here is my

Intentional List:

I will intentionally dress my body in modesty and seek compliments only from the two men that means the most to me in my life. Well, three men that means the most, let me not forget my Dad. But, I only seek compliments from two. God and my husband.
